Ondjaba Classic
The signature entry point into the Ondjaba world — smoky, warm and clearly rooted in Namibia.
This website contains information about alcoholic beverages.
A distinctive African whiskey shaped by Mahangu, bold cask work and the dry Namibian climate. Built for specialist retail, hospitality and discerning whiskey drinkers across Europe.

Ondjaba was created at Erongo Mountain Winery in Omaruru to express Namibia rather than imitate another whiskey region. Local grains such as Mahangu are part of the identity, while maturation under the Namibian sun drives a character of its own.
Ondjaba takes its name from the indigenous Ovambo word for “elephant”. Grain bills can include maize, barley, wheat, rye and Mahangu. The whiskey matures in virgin oak and selected former wine casks, gaining texture and depth in Namibia’s dry climate.

Ondjaba uses elephant dung as a traditional, locally available smoke source — a distinctive Namibian alternative to peat that contributes to its unmistakable story and aromatic profile.
Each edition now has its own public detail page with gallery, tasting story and dealer call-to-action.

The signature entry point into the Ondjaba world — smoky, warm and clearly rooted in Namibia.

A more premium, limited-feel bottling designed to create excitement and collector interest.

A cask-finished expression that links Ondjaba directly to its Namibian winery roots.

A vinous and layered interpretation with a softer, richer cask influence.
Ondjaba wins attention because it looks and feels different before the first sip. African provenance, warm amber tones, winery cask heritage and a story with real edge give the brand presence on shelf and in hospitality.
